Centenary celebrations
Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club is a private members club founded in 1922.
We celebrated 100 years of the club with live music, delicious food, fun and laughter at our centenary ball.
Check out the latest news and upcoming events below.

Something big is coming to SCTC. Our brand-new covered padel courts are now ready, and we're throwing a weekend-long celebration to mark the occasion.
Join us on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September from 11.30am for exhibition matches, coaching clinics, live music, great food, and a whole lot of fun. It's a moment for the whole club to come together and toast an exciting new chapter.
Head over to the Padel section for full details and the latest news on the grand opening programme.
Tuesday 1st – Sunday 20th September 2026
We are delighted to announce that this year's SCTC Club Championships will take place over 3 weeks and is open to all members of all standards. The following events will be run:
- Seniors: 40+ Men's Singles & Doubles / 40+ Women's Singles & Doubles / 40+ Mixed Doubles / 55+ Men's Singles & Doubles / 55+ Women's Singles & Doubles
- Open: Men's Singles & Doubles / Women's Singles & Doubles / Mixed Doubles
- Juniors: U8, U9, U10, U14 & U18 Singles / U14 & U18 Doubles
Closing date for entries is Tuesday 25th August so please ensure you enter by this date. All finals will be held on Sunday 20th September.
To Enter:
- Entries will be taken via the LTA website only – click here to enter. Login in the top right-hand corner using your LTA login details. NB if you are entering a doubles event, both players will need to enter online – please ensure you list your doubles partner as part of your entry.
- All match results will be submitted for players' World Tennis Number (WTN) – more details on WTN can be found here: ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) | LTA
- You can enter as many events as you wish, but please check your availability for the full period before entering – every year we have players who reach a final but are then unavailable on the day!
Once the closing date has passed, we will do the draws and allocate match dates and times. Some matches will be allocated courts. If players are unable to play on the date and time we allocate, that is no problem – players just need to re-arrange the match (and book their own court) before the next round is due to take place. Further details on this will follow. All draws and match times will be available from 29 August with matches starting from Tuesday 1 September.
Any queries on the competition, please speak to one of the coaches or contact Rory via rorymccutcheon727@hotmail.com. If anyone has any problems entering online, please let us know. We want as many players as possible entering the event so please help spread the word!
Tennis Update: July 2026
Reception and Front of House
Our newly refurbished Reception is now open and our Front of House team are in place. They are available every day from 8.00am until 9.00pm and will be happy to help with any enquiries or provide assistance with our new systems.
Clubhouse
The refurbishment of the Clubhouse is also nearing completion. Decoration is in its final stages and our new furniture and kitchen appliances have been delivered. We expect all of this work to be completed by the end of July, giving members a fresh, modern environment to enjoy.
New Door Entry System
Installation of our new electronic access system is now complete. When the system goes live–currently planned for the end of the month–members will access the Club through the main entrance only using their personal QR Code within the MOC portal. We'll send detailed guidance before the system goes live, and our Front of House team will be available to help anyone who needs assistance during the transition.
Tennis Courts Update: July 2026
Court Numbering
As part of the introduction of MOC we've taken the opportunity to simplify the numbering of our tennis courts. The new numbering provides a simple, consecutive sequence from Court 1 through to Court 11, making it easier for members and visitors to identify courts when making bookings.
Indoor Courts 1 and 2, and courts 9, 10 and 11 remain unchanged. However, the outdoor courts will now be numbered sequentially with courts 4, 5, 6, 7, 8a and 8b respectively becoming 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Courts 10 & 11
The resurfacing of Courts 10 and 11 is currently scheduled for late August, although this timetable may change if any additional construction related damage is identified. Following the resurfacing, we'll be installing new tweener LED floodlights, ensuring the courts are ready for use as the evenings begin to draw in.
